Lexus IS200 Reprogramming Key Fob
Lexus IS200 Reprogramming Key Fob
Agree with Moley, it's very easy with these procedures to misunderstand a step and/or do it slightly wrong. You have to be very precise. If your car is a similar age to mine Jeff, what I posted for mine should work for you too - as long as you have a master key in the first place. If you do not have a master key then none of these procedures will work whatsoever.
My car is a 99 (T). I got the car with only 1 3button key and 1 Gray key. i done the procedure on the gray key and that worked it opens the doors and starts the car. As for the new 3 button key when i do the central locking i get to where the car locks and opens but when i try to programe the buttons nothing happens. When i try the immobiliser i can get to stag 6 but the light dosn't blink it just flashers as if i've just took the key out. Need some serious help guys :blushing: :thumbup1:
Which set of instructions are you using Jeff ? There are several in this thread.
Jeff, is your key definitely a master key ? Did you get to the bit where the locks start locking/unlocking on their own ?
To check if it's a master key or not, watch the flashing "Security" light as you insert it into the ignition. If it turns off immediately, it's a master key, if it stays lit for a second then goes out, it's not a master key.
If you've got a master key, then the following procedures should work for you, for your 99 car. There are two steps, one to programme the key to work the remote locking/alarm, the other to programme it to work with the immobiliser.
First, to programme the remote locking, do the following :
1. Start with the driver's door open.
2. Insert a working Master Key (3 button) in to ignition, turn to on, then off and remove.
3. Lock, then unlock all the doors using the POWER LOCK button on the drivers door FIVE times (lock unlock lock unlock lock unlock lock unlock lock unlock)
4. Close drivers door, then re-open.
5. Lock, then unlock another FIVE times, exactly as before.
6. Insert your new key into the ignition and turn to on, then off again and remove.
7. The door locks will then start operating.
8. While they are clicking away, hold down the lock button on the new key and press the unlock button on the key 5 times. Then release the lock button and press the unlock button once.
9. The doors will lock and unlock once...and you're done!
To programme it with the car's immobiliser, do the following :
1. Press the accelerator and brake pedals simultaneously ONCE, then release.
2. Insert your Master Key into the ignition, and turn ON.
3. Press and release the accelerator FIVE times (within 15 seconds)
4. Press and release the brake pedal SIX times (within 20 seconds)
5. Remove the Master key
6. Insert the new key into the ignition, and turn ON (within 10 seconds)
7. Press and release the accelerator ONCE (within 10 seconds)
8. WAIT 80 seconds (or so), the security light should go OFF.
9. Remove new key, press and release brake ONCE. Now you should be done !
Note - these procedures are for *early* cars, later ones need a different procedure.
