Lexusboy Surely Lexus have tried to put right your problem and have taken your money without sorting your issues.
I would be asking them why have they taken £700 and not fixed the problem.

I totally agree with Lexusboy,

Allthough i see Stav may have fixed you up with a throttle body, therefore no comeback, but even £700 on diagnostic's and no answers to your problems is shocking.

And good that Phil has offered services, that's what this club's are all about.

+Rep for Phil

Hi Phil, thanks for the offer. Not sure why I am listed as Milton Keynes as I am in Northampton, do you have an auto as well Phil?

Any help is much appreciated

Just to clear up the £700 spent. That has been on various garages as Lexus would not fit a 2nd hand throttle assembly, they wanted £1100 just for the part so bought one from stav and got it fitted by a mechanic. I doubt the throttle body has ever been a problem as the engine light comes on when doing over 40mph, anyone know much about the input speed sensor?

Stav to answer your question my car is auto, Lexus in Leciester confirmed over the phone that the sensor is only on the auto gearboxes, apparently the auto gearboxes have their own ecu, can anyone shed light on that?

yea most auto boxes have their own ECU, thats common across all manufacturers. I can recommend MK Gearboxes down Tavistock street Bletchley - I have no idea where to go in Northampton though.

They diagnosed my Saab auto very quickly even though no error codes were logged in the ECU, and they only took it for a 2 min test drive.

Sorry my IS is manual.

Not sure if this is possible or been tryed but can't you re-set the auto box's ECU to see if that clears the fault:blink:

40mm Lowering Springs, Re-sprayed Front, 6000K HID's, Re-furbed alloys, Bandit Induction Kit (cheers Chris), Raised boot spoiler with LED, Blue calipers with silver decals, De-badged rear, Chrome Oil Filler Cap (thanks to Chris again), White LED dash bulbs, Blue a/c control bulbs, Blue door markers and interior lights, Sony head unit, Chrome Lexus tax disc holder, TRD side skirts, Original Saloon Front Bumper re-fitted instead of Sportcross
