i followed a golf onto the M6 the other day, and as she got onto the motorway, came to a complete stop with hazard lights on.

the reason

her friend who was following needed to catch up

i doubt i need to repeat the things i calld her.....

****** hell, was that on the actual motorway or on the slip? And was it on the hard shoulder or the actual lane? That is so insanely dangerous, dual carriageways and motorways need to be part of the driving test - we must be the only country in the world where people pass their test doing no more than 30-40mph (that's all I had done before taking my test) and then suddenly jump on motorways.

Obviously there is a minority like us who are intelligent enough to figure it out, but the majority need guidance!

actuall motorway, in the slow lane

a wagon had to swerve to miss here, apparantly the hazard lights made it okay??

my instructor taught me on all types of roads, even took me up to 100mph at one point just so he was safe in the knowledge i would be safe after leaving his tuition.

even though none of it counted for my test....

Have to say I totally agree with you, a STATIONARY (or ery) indicating vehicle is showing an intention and therefore not in the 'give way to traffic already on the road you want to be on' clause .. and also I seem to remember you're supposed to look in your rear view before you brake to check whether it's safe to... Had it happened to me I would definitely have been more than verbal but I have to say if you'd had an accident and the police or insurance were involved I think you both might get a slapped wrist as they would concur that you have to have been driving too fast/close for the conditions Sad Too easy to happen to all of us innit Sad

ohhhhhh and quit lumping all women driver the same boys ! There are quite a lot of male morons on the road too you know .. you just give them more leeway don't ya lol

As long as the truck could corroborate I think it would be the leading cars fault for braking suddenly actually, but yes with no witnesses it's easy to blame the car behind.

Yep it's not just women, I see my fair share of male morons too!

And you were right, it is stationary Smile

Hi all.

If there were sign's indicating that one side had priority over the other or give way lines on one side or the other then fair enough but it sounds like the only warning was for oncoming large vehicles in the middle of the road and road markings to show HGV's the best line to take under the bridge. In this instance no one technically has priority over the other. As Carpedium was following the Fiesta which suddenly stopped to let the lorry go, it wouldn't suprise me that the Fiesta driver wasn't paying attention, saw the lorry indicating to pull away, and at the last second, panicked and performed an emergency stop when it was not needed as it sounds like the lorry was stationary.

The one thing that everyone can learn from this, especially in situations like this is that joe public are very unpredictable in what they do in these situations. Best off giving them plenty of room when following and try and anticipate what they are likely to do, no matter how daft it might be.

Agreed totally,

and i must sya i gave more than enough distance to the fezza but i must of closed up considerably from the moment they started braking to the moment i was looking at the lorry and not the car in-front

i also think the road conditions played a major factor as if i was following the fezza normally and wasnt distracted by the lorry, i would of stopped in ample time and space,

i had similar thing today.

I was coming upto traffic lights they turned amber normally would drop it and go, but had my mates young daughter (under 2) in the car so broke. next thing i know the old guy in car behind beeping and waving shouting learn highway code **** head.

light when green turned onto road that is 30 limit going into 50.

Singal carrageway double white line and shevrons in middle

Still in the 30 doing about 35 next then i know the ***, is next to me over taking.

As to say i seen red dropped it and sat at same speed but backed off as not just me in car and would have run him into a car.

The **** then pulled in front of me and slammed his breaks and sat at 10mph.

Errrrrrrr why are there so many dicks on the road.

it just annoys me cos im a young driver i get loaded and there are older guy who drive like dicks and there insurence is not loaded.
