Marsdendean Are the springs just to reduce noise or something? I know the shims are so the pads don't bang about?
Springs are to keep the pads away from the disc's, stop rubbing.

I've just found my copy of the IS200 manual on CD and these springs are called "anti-squeal springs" so it looks like they do the same as the shims :wink:
