Stoney I'm surprised by that, as I didn't realise you could get over double stock power without stock internals giving out? Does that mean a TTE charger could make 250-300 with the right size pulley? Smile

When you say "capable of producing" does that mean you are running less at the moment?

Its all about the efficiency of the turbo and how turbos produce boost over chargers. The TTE charger is just not capable of producing enough airflow to get past 210 - 220bhp. If you want power turbo is the best way and getting the correct type of turbo is essential - as is excellent mapping.

There is an IS200 running 330 on standard internals, I think Rabsters is on 300BHP ish. It is a blooming fast car, I had the pleasure of driving it on the last Switzerland tripBig GriniscoStu:

All this is news to me, as I was always told the internals would not take more than about 240! That was, at one point, the accepted knowledge on the matter, though I guess that has changed now!

2tongues The TTE charger is just not capable of producing enough airflow to get past 210 - 220bhp.

If it makes that on standard boost, won't it make more with increased boost though?

Confusedad: It was a tough call to make, but the Supercharged IS200 is being retired. Confusedad:

and it was only 240 due to bad mapping of the car i believe, a few people in the begining blew engines because they mapped it themselves or have a bad mapper do it,

Oh ok then. I've been out of the game a while and am not really up to speed these days!

One more question though...... What about a TTE charger with larger pully, with no additional mapping (stock ECU with "black box") would that run ok? What sort of power might it make?

i think you will need bigger injectors and a piggyback ecu and a fuel pump with return line to push out that power

Or just sell the IS200 and get an IS300, at least thats got a tunable engine in it from stock.
