I'd rather have a bay that looked like this:

Than my 300 bay.

I can't see the pic, but if it's an ISF V8, then I'm sure many would like it under their bonnet!

I hate plastic engine covers with a passion. It just makes a lot more hassle if you are trying to service your car, or do any work on it at all. Though we have all known for years that manufacturers do not want you to work on your own car, because that's what £120 an hour labour dealers are for!

Confusedad: It was a tough call to make, but the Supercharged IS200 is being retired. Confusedad:

All the engine bay pictures on here are of an IS-F as it happens

I know I would rather look into my engine bay and see this:

(and yes that is a Lexus engine)

Than the plastic above, even if it does require a bit more cleaning! I hated that about fitting the chargecooler to my engine, it was a big black box that sat on top of the head and meant you couldn't see anything!

Well yes if we're talking modified with lots of shiny bits, then yes I would too. But you cant compare a 1uz with what looks like ITB's, powdercoated parts, polished exhaust mani's and god knows what else to a stock grubby engine covered in dirt and oil.

Kinda the same reason I painted my intercooler black. If you're gonna drive the car and use it as a DD then you just cant be getting into those impossible to reach areas all the time to keep them clean.

The way I did mine was to spray the heavily soiled areas with degreaser and agitate with a brush. Then when I was happy that it was all clean i used a jet wash on it to remove the dirt.

Just avoid all the electrical components and when you are done, Allow the water to drain free and allow to run up to temperature.
