2tongues They were cheap but if you claim, its an UPHILL battle.

Wasnt for me mate, very easy and quick......may have been due to the fact it was an 100% claim against the pratt that drove into me!

Just a few things to try in order to get your quote down:

- Say the car is parked on a driveway or residential parking instead of the usual "its garaged". Reason being that when you say its garaged, you're effectively saying that you have provided a nice private area for thieves to break in to your car without being disturbed.

- Get your girlfriend / mother / someone female on there as a named driver. Doesn't matter how old they are or how many accidents they've had. You just need some XX chromosomes on your policy.

- Try a few different variations of your job title.

- Tweak the value of your car. For example, my insurance was LOWER when I said my car was worth £7000 as opposed to £3000. Go figure!

- Try setting your annual mileage higher than you normally would. Reason being that if you say you do hardly any miles then the insurance co's think you don't have much experience driving your car.

Some people have said that about Admiral but when I claimed they were very helpful and it was settled within weeks. Don't forget most of the claim it dealt with by a 3rd party company as well so it depends who you get dealing with it.

For the T Sport I've just bought I'm going with Sky, they beat Flux by over £200!

I used to be a big supporter of Adrian Flux, but a year or so ago I rang for a quote, they couldn't help and then happily supplied my information to a third party partner whom hounded me to death with calls.

Put me off a bit to be honest - and Sky beat my renewal by a LONG way (with the dark side discount applied) so I went with them.

I was put off Adrian Flux when i enquired about a quote on my sportscross, the guy at the other end asked me if I gave had any experience driving a powerful 3 litre car. What a plank as that question made me look elsewhere.

I'm with Admiral at the moment and it cost close to a grand to insure my IS200 as an under 21 with 1 year NCB.

I was going to look at Adrian Flux but they won't insure me on the IS200 even now I'm 21 and have 2 years NCB Sad

Thank god for Admiral eh. I don't think I'd find anyone stupid enough to insure me on a 4.3l v8 otherwise :p

haha Wink tbh they aren't too bad with prices, they dropped mine by over £150 when I said I'd been quoted £200 cheaper elsewhere (which I hadn't)
