I looked at the Varta actually, but I thought...it's 30% more expensive, but is it 30% better?

If you want to play the numbers game. The best price I found for the Varta E44 Silver was £87 delivered. The best for the Bosch S4 100 was £72. (Both just now, 10 mins on ebay and google shopping.)

So it may be 20% more expensive, but has 24% more cold cranking amps, 10% more amp hours and 25% more warranty. So according to my late night man maths, it is 59% better! (24+10+25)

At the end of the day, I think I'll got with the Varta, it's only £15 more. Plus, of course, the silver top will go better with my new terminals and battery bar! (That I've not yet fitted as it's removed and refitted so regularly with the current battery!)

That said, I will get prices for both of these from my local motorfactors tomorrow before ordering online.

the trays are the same in the 200 and 300 no differce in fitting, all you need to do is chop off the end lips of the shorter 2 sides and refit the tray and the battery drops in its so easy, go for the e44, and may i also recomend a set of uprated connectors these are the type that we have on our cars but theres plenty similar to choose from http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/KnuKonceptz-Si...5891a1d785

so it looks like youve already got terminals sorted so ignore my suggestion :thumbup1:

I had a mate in a battery shop look up options and he said the uprated one suggested for the 300 was larger than the one for the 200, this is why I assumed they were different. (His best option was near the E44 spec, but £120 at trade price.)

I do already have my terminals, and so I will ignore your suggestion. Those ones are, however, the exact ones I already have! And a matching silver aluminium battery bar.

You take it wrong!

Though I have now, the tray modding is exactly what I was after.

Thanks.

So when you've modded the tray and cut out the bits at the side...what stops the battery sliding sideways while cornering?

sprinter2012 So when you've modded the tray and cut out the bits at the side...what stops the battery sliding sideways while cornering?

The loom on the right hand side stops it going that way and the cable on the left stops it moving left the battery bar is still used to hold it in place I did this to my is200 an never had a problem.:w00t:

The stock and aftermarket (0AWG!) wiring helps to hold it in place. It is, however, also screwed down tightly with a battery bar (from your group buy!)
