It's a bride rail, looks like a super low actually. I Know the brides sit a lot lower than recaros on the same rails. It is DAFT amounts of low though.

Yeah but bride make a selection of different rails for cars to alter the height of the seats. You might have a 'Super low' rail for example.

The rail should have a 2 letter code on it like MO or MY or YO etc... this indicates what type it is.

I was told it was an RO which should be normal height I think, but having fitted it, it's DEFINITELY as low as it could be without hitting the floor.

Right, having had a look at the rail arrangement and the seat itself, the rails are not actually that low. My backside is sat below the actual seat frame/mount point itself once the material has sagged down. Recaro seats have a springy bit to support you, so I should be about 3" higher in a recaro, which would be perfect.
