they probably wanted brand new lumps rather than reworked used already imported english lumps, saves time having to refurb and check everything, and aftermarket replacement parts are probably breaking regulations. if they needed to replace anything. so ordered 2 new engines direct from the toyota factory, also are these the engines that came with titanium valves as standard

Yer they were the version from the RS200 with titanium valves. And the ones from Japan weren't even new! lol It says they ordered them from the Japanese equivalent of a scrapyard.
