Matt_C KA with a RST lump in it - or mk3 Fiesta with an RST lump in it. Both common as muck, but because of that they are so easy and cheap to do.
"Once you go Jap....." :tongue_smilie:

el_bandido I still think SR20 would be easiest

If I was after making a serious track day car then I think I'd agree. But as a cheapo toy project I feel I'd like to see what I could do with an original (And internally standard) engine, After all, If I blow up a CG10 or 13 it's just a case of grabbing another from a scrappy for next to nothing.... SR20's on the other hand are a tad thinner on the ground.

Air filter by K+N, Exhaust by Japspeed, Brakes by Mintex......... And a scuffed rear arch by my sister. Huh

Don't subscribe to the whole brand/country loyalty thing. I was massively into Fords back in the day, but only because I started with an XR3i and then wanted a S1 RS Turbo. But I don't get it when people ONLY stick to a particular brand, going through multiple models etc. I mean don't get me wrong, EsCos's are great; I'd have one today, but there are better cars out there - and better cars than Saff or 3dr Cos', etc.

However, in your case, it seems daft to choose only to go with a Micra "just because" it's from the same country as your Lex. If cheap FWD turbo supermini fun is what you're after, a turbo KA/Fez makes much more sense, easier to do, easier to tune, more parts off the shelf.

Still, your money, your choice Wink

It's not so much brand loyalty, More a case of my eye's have been opened to how much better jap tin can be than the designs we coble together here in Europe.

And No, The idea is to keep the standard engine in place, Just adding boost to it (Till it probably goes bang..... Then possibly doing it again a couple of times with cheap standard scrap yard engines till I learn how far I can push one without it popping. :thumbupSmile. For me the fun would be just as much in the spannering on a cheap disposable toy as in driving it if it worked. I like messing about under cars, It's just most of them these days are too complex to tinker with (Why the hell should doing an engine swap involve 3 days to get the engine and box in and 2 weeks trying to trick various NON ENGINE RELATED on board computers that everythings fine and they should still get on with their jobs?)

I reckon I could wire a standalone ECU into a Micra in less than a day. Why should car electronics be any more involved than that?
