Predator Currently it's an Aston Martin V8 Vantage. It's been faultless and pretty much perfect. It's easy to live with and a joy to have as an every day car. But I really want to tick the box of my all time dream car. I'll be buying a Ferrari F430. Hence why I also need a more covert and relaxed drive. The is200 is perfect.

Very nice mate! Recently been looking around at cars like this as they are becoming very affordable - how's the Aston been in terms of reliability? Do you use an independent or main dealer for maintenance? Are the running costs reasonable?

I would absolutely love a Ferrari but couldn't justify the cost of a 430, a 360 would be ok but Ferrari repair costs must be astronomical if something goes wrong. Having said that I know nothing about it, should probably do some research!

Hi,

I can't recommend Aston Martin enough. The car never had a single issue, other than a squeaky alternator belt, which wasn't much to have changed. Or you could just do it yourself.

Servicing through a main dealer is around £800 including parts and labour, with a few consumables on there. Not just oil and water, lol. Servicing can be very cheap, if done through an indie. There's lots of cross reference parts Wink

You could do 20k easy on the back tyres, which is good for a 400bhp car!

If you're in a position to get one, you really should. Mine is a 56 plate and up for sale through, Autofficina at 38k. You can get an 05 plate for low to mid 30's but its best to start from 06.

Thanks for that, good to know they're fairly reliable as I wouldn't have guessed that!

I'll have to give it some thought when I've finished a few things I have going on at the moment.

I can understand that. Pre 2005 Aston, were notorious for breaking down. But by the time the V8V was released, Aston had new money and really got things turned around.

Get out in one and you'll fall in love. They are stunning, but it's really easy to forget youre in something so special, simply because they are such a pleasure to drive. Once you get out on the open road, it's a beast and really gets your heart pumping!

Woo, hoo. I'm on my way to view and hopefully buy my is200 Smile
It's a 100 mile journey, lol.

She's a dark grey, 2001 Sport model with a TRD front bumper.

I'll be spending the next 3 days giving her a massive service, with a good polish up and fitting a few little bits and pieces. Nothing too major, as I'm not really looking to increase power.

I'll have pics, once she's all tarted up Smile
