I'm comparing my car to cars with similar mileage (just under 50K), so you can't really say low mileage cars are worth less because the ones with 90K+ are cheap.

If you want a cheap car thats done loads of miles then yes you can get one for a couple of grand. But if you want one with less miles you pay more for it, that's just how it works.

But I'm sorry for thinking that everyone in the used car market knows more about car valuations than you. Smile

purplewitch My cars are insured for what I paid for suki, what it will cost me to rebuild Sachi less paint job cos they wouldn't cover that and what it would cost me to import another Hiccup .... None of those prices equate in any way to what I could realistically hope to get from selling them.

Nor unfortunately do they equate to what an insurance company would value the cars at in the event of a claim, unless you are paying the extra for an agreed value policy. Regardless of what you reckon your car is worth at the time of taking out the policy, insurers will only pay out based on market value.

Mine is a 53 plate SE 125k and is getting 350 miles to the tank and that's 90% around town. I'm realy pleased with it and its been so reliable.

RichiesTrucking in what sense are they expensive to run? i get around 200 miles to a tank of premium petrol so if we are talking fuel consumption, they cant be that bad can they?

200 miles from a 70L tank is less than 13mpg - I'd love to have your wallet if you think that's not bad?!?!

Matt, RT's Mitsubishi gets less then 13mpg - the "They can't be that bad, can they?" was referring to an IS200 should he buy one.

Ha ha insurance thank **** its not compulsory here as long as your cars registered and therefore cheap if you want it.

60 miles costs me around £15 although i can reduce that to £12 if i keep it off boost

my mind seems to have changed now anyway. i would call fitting a fibre glass bonnet an indication that i will be keeping the legnum going Smile
