Carbon enclosed box?

You mean sort of like the TDI air scoop thing?

Personally I recommend Apexi, but everyone has their favourite.

I also recommend APEXi, or if you can't find one then a K&N.

Okay so if I get myself an Apexi filter from EBAY

Do I then need one of THESE to go from my 63mm OD tubing, to the 76mm OD adapter?

Or can I get another adapter that is the right size already?

My Apexi filter arrived today, which has left me with a couple more questions...

One, the bolts that come with the kit are too long to screw down properly, so I have ordered some shorter ones. Should there be something else fitted that would take up the extra thread thats left on the screws?

And I cant help but think it looks like theres a part missing with the gasket just sticking out the edges like that? Or is it just because the universal intake flange im using is smaller than the OEM ones?

Also, is there an Apexi branded heat shield I can buy to go with this? Or has anyone tried a non-apexi one that they know will fit?

Don't think that looks right. I don't think mine is like that. It's been a while since I saw it though, and the only photo I can find is this one!

I can have a proper look tomorrow, as I am going to visit the old girl and start stripping parts for use on my new one. I can get you photos of how it should be, if nobody else solves this issue first.
