I posted this on Stix's thread so it may as well go on here too. I sat down in a quiet 15 minutes at work and thought about fuelling. I was originally going to link the 2 fuel rails together with a small bit of hose over the top of the throttlebody but that would look **** and it's not recommended... plus I was gonna use an FPR with 2 inputs anyway so I may as well split the fuel rails evenly so one isn't favoured over the other. So, this is what I came up with.

I'm ordering the FPR with the optional gauge on it as I don't have a pressure gauge anywhere I can use. Once the build is done I might use it for oil pressure as the UZ has exceptionally high oil pressure and will be off the end of the stock RX7 gauge. FPR, Y pipe, fitting kit and gauge will all be Aeromotive and the hoses and fittings will be Earls, because I am a brand ***** and they are just round the corner! Am currently trying to find somewhere cheap to get the Aeromotive stuff other then eBay.

I hate these fittings. You end up with so many of them!

9 pages ago I made a list... I like lists.

toxo Still to go:

Gearbox DONE
Gearbox rear mount DONE
Gearbox fitting kit
Auto Diff DONE
Mishimoto radiator & fan kit
New front ARB mounts (mine are mangled and have had the radiator mounts cut off) DONE (New rubbers on order at Mazda)
Driftworks oil filter relocation & cooling kit
Driftworks power steering cooling kit
Exhaust... more on that later

Need to add converting to return-style fuel system to that list.

I've also been doing a lot of wiring diagrams and have got one mocked up for the starting/charging system. My intention is to convert the rex into a 2 seater with the optional storage bins in the back instead of rear seats. A slimline battery will go in one storage bin and hopefully I'll be able to pack the ECU, relays and fuses into the other one. If I recreate the starting & charging system from the Lexus in there, I can ditch 80% of the wiring in the engine bay which should only take 5 relays and 8 or so fuses. That will in turn tidy up the engine bay a lot and I can meet the IG1 and IG2 circuits in the dashboard loom.

This should be more of a case of just binning the wiring loom. With the exception of the lights and the horn it will all be redundant.

Got another couple of hours in the unit last night.

Here's a better pic of the engine minus blue light. You can see I had to clean up the mating surfaces for the water pump bottom left and bottom right. I guess some coolant collected there when I took the old one off and corroded. Nothing a light bit of wet & dry couldn't sort out!

The gasket Toyota can't decide whether to use or not. It's pretty overkill for a water pump, 2 layers of steel with copper in the middle:

Pump on. The 5 bolts that look new are provided in the water pump kit. The others all bolt ancilliaries or covers on so are longer. Fitted the idler too but I can't fit the tensioner yet as I need some more loctite.

The water pump kit also includes an O ring for the black heater pipe you can see in the background and for the 2 halves of the bypass housing, which I didn't realise were two seperate halves and have painted as one  Either way it's not going to be leaking!

Have found a minor issue which means I might have to take the oil pump off, Matt you have a PM!

Edit: Oh yeah, the reason that doesn't seem like a lot of work for 2 hours is I also took the front bumper off the RX7... found far too many self tappers and staples in the process

My reason for taking it off was to replace the bonnet release cable which is knackered... to find out that the replacement supplied with the car is broken in the same place! Great
