looking good m8, i was looking into de-cat/sports cat for the down pipe but when speaking to Subaru tuners up my way they said that unless you are doing a lot of track days or driving flat out everywhere then its not worth changing the down pipe to a sports cat/de-cat you are better to change the up pipe(pre-cat before turbo) de-cat the 2nd cat and change the mid section and back box

Haven't heard that way, what I have now which I have been told is a good setup is tubular manifold with straight through up pipe, then open neck sports cat down to decat centre section through to the back box. I too wouldn't suggest de-cat all the way through now.

Well not everything can go to plan I guess as day before yesterday I went out in car in the evening and as I drove onto the main road to accelerate I decided that they're could be an issue as unless someone had swapped my engine over for a diesel I was sounding like a tractor Confusedad:

I have tubular headers although not sure where from as they were on the car so probably not the best ones!!

It was too late to get to a garage to have a look underneath but I could feel the exhaust gases under the front off side, too close to be a gasket I thought, had it up on ramps today and it has cracked where the four tubes go into one to go to the up pipe, they tried welding it but could not get above it and so it is better but not fixed, looks like its new headers then which is a bit of a pain.

Having spoken to the garage that’s doing my upgrade I will probably be getting the Roger Clark (RCM) ones but at £460 (discounted!!) they're not cheap but as always come highly recommended!!

In the meantime, to cheer myself up  I have ordered an anti-lift kit http://www.cdfracing.co.uk/product_info....c22c9e99d6 and up rated drop links http://www.cdfracing.co.uk/product_info....c22c9e99d6 for when I have decided on which ARB's to get, any suggestions welcome, currently thinking Eibach or Whiteline

That's a ****** Sad but is a fact of life with tubular manifolds on high performance engines unfortunately.

Your other option I guess would be to get some bracing made up so that there's less force transmitted through the welds. I ripped an exhaust flexi once from the movement of my engine which would've killed a stainless mani if I'd had one. Weakest part of the chain and all that, especially when they've got the weight of a turbo on them.

Whiteline ARBs get a really good writeup on the MR2. Are they adjustable on the Impreza?
