Felipe Massa's crash explained!
Schumacher will get to drive in practice on Friday and Saturday as well, I think they're trying to get a bit more practice time for him.
I've just realised that they appear to have permission from the FIA and are appealing to the other teams to see whether they're happy with it. So perhaps it might happen then.
Personally I want to see how quick he'll be just jumping in the car with no testing but I can understand why they're asking - as far as the Toro Rosso driver is concerned I don't think they even asked so not really a question of being unfair, and stevie's point about them sacking a driver leading to replacement is also a good one too.
I don't think it would be right to let him drive the new car before the GP weekend. Ferrari could also use the opportunity to try out a few bits and pieces on the car too, making the most of circumventing the testing "ban".
Looks like some of the other teams (Williams, Red Bull, Toro Rosso) have blocked Ferrari's request, so Schumacher will have to wait to Valencia to drive the current car. Also, it's been said that Toro Rosso did ask if Alguersauri could have a similar familiarisation test, and their request was turned down.
Just heard that Schumacher has announced he's cancelled his planned comeback, due to problems with his neck (relating to a motorbike crash he was in). Shame ad:
