So my question's is how are you coping with the current fuel costs.

Are you having to think about what mileage am i doing because of costs?

Will I be looking to change my car because of costs?

Will I be attending so my car shows and events because of cost's

Second but not any less of a issue.

If I am driving and I damage my car through pot holes should I be able to claim?

Have you claimed and if so how did you get on?

Are you having to think about what mileage am i doing because of costs?

Yes but i always have done i walk to work and if i can get away with it i dont use the car to go shopping, I just dont do silly journeys anymore

Will I be looking to change my car because of costs?

NO not a chance

Will I be attending so my car shows and events because of cost's

i will always attend as many as i can just because of the event not because of fuel

If I am driving and I damage my car through pot holes should I be able to claim?

yes i think you can phone the council and if they new about the pothole its there fault

Have you claimed and if so how did you get on?

sort of i claimed when I smashed my exhaust trying to get on my drive in my old house because of the apex of the pavement. they paid for my exhaust to be fixed

Can't say anything has changed really, but it is frustrating how the price just continues to creep upwards..............

As for potholes I claimed when I had damage but got nothing, couldn't be bothered to fight further although that may have been more successful.

On the subject, I narrowly avoided a colossal pothole earlier today, and so glad I did - it was so big I came around again to get a better look at it, was easily more than 6 inches deep and wide enough for a whole wheel to fall in it. Hit that at a reasonable speed and you'll definitely do some serious suspension damage if not more.

Going to be calling the council about that one tomorrow morning!

Im the same as Parthiban, i willl carry on driving my guzzling car anyway.

yes its annoying about the fuel prices and its costs, and i will help the campaign to lower them. But im not letting them drive me off the road (excuse the pun)

May get a diesel car as a second car when i get a new house, but thats more to complete bigger projects on the car rather than fuel ecconomy

This facebook campaign has a petition to reduce the taxes on petrol going. I know a few people here have signed up already but worth doing so if you've not already.

To answer the questions though, my daily mileage hasn't changed, still a 40-odd mile round trip to work, plus weekends with the kids. I will not be changing the car, and I don't do the events cos they're at weekends and always a few hundred miles away, making it impossible to take the kids along to...

Potholes are an absolute disgrace, if they were ever repaired properly rather than patched up they wouldn't reappear every year. One road round near me is riddled with them, you have to drive like a dodgem to avoid half of them! I do believe you should be able to claim (and I think you can) but I've not hit one big enough to do any damage yet so haven't had to find out yet...

Lexusboy So my question's is how are you coping with the current fuel costs.

No!

Lexusboy Will I be looking to change my car because of costs?

No!

Lexusboy Will I be attending so my car shows and events because of cost's

Not quite sure what you meant by this but I will be going to the same shows I always go to!

Lexusboy Second but not any less of a issue.

Erm AFAIK you can only claim if they are 4" deep, otherwise you just have to suck it up.

Lexusboy Have you claimed and if so how did you get on?

I've not but my mum has, and failed - the council had farmed out dealing with pothole claims to a 3rd party who just refused everything!

For the record, I can only use super in my car and it's currently 133.9 here. I see about 17mpg from the MR2.

Yeah, its 20miles to and from work. So fuel is a big issue for me. And certainly one that could quite easily see me out of owning my Lexus. I know its only a matter of time before it becomes un-economical to run such a thirsty car. And have no idea how anyone runs more powerful cars.
The fact of the matter is though, niether petrol or diesel at the minute is a renewable energy source, and to that extent it'll only increase in price un-till no one can afford to own/run a car.
Not even hybrid cars offer a decent alterntive. Although they are heading in the right direction.

I remember back in the day.. when my first car wouldn't even take a tenners worth, from empty! My main motivation for working is my cars so I will not stop driving them. I am lucky that I moved closer to work a while ago so I am still noticing a huge reduction in my overall fuel bills but I would resort to selling anything I can lay my hands on to fuel my Supra .. including you lot!
