OBD-II Wiring
OBD-II Wiring
ok so here is a random question i want to connect 2 OBD units to my car circuit
one is the HKS Camp2 Unit
the other is a OBD Reader on the computer
i tried just splicing the wiring in but it seems you can only have one item running at a time which doesn't help me as i NEED both
anyone had any experience with this ?

The only exception I can think of was if your ECU supported 2 different OBD2 protocols. Most I've come across use KWP2000 but if you (theoretically) had an ECU that would answer to either one of the SAE protocols *and* either ISO or KWP as well then that might work. You can't use any other protocol with CAN (presuming the ECU would support it anyway) because the pins used for CAN operation on the OBD2 port are battery +ve/-ve for all other protocols!
This is unlikely because the SAE protocols are mainly used by US vehicles.
slightly :offtopic: what kind of cable do you need to connect the OBD2 reader from the car to a lap top ??
