That's for red not pink. I've only ever bought red as the pink stuff is meant for ali engines and mine's got a cast block.

That's what I get it for anyway, it's a shame you're not nearer I've got about 4 bottles of it at my workshop at the moment I think!

Quick Q guys.

What is the tank behind the main radiator reservoir for? It looks like some kind of overflow tank as it's got a pull off cap so can't be under any kind of pressure?

I don't know the layout of your engine bay but from your description I'd presume it's the expansion tank. Where the coolant goes when the radiator cap opens.

Just wanted to make sure that it doesn't need to be filled as mine is dryer than the sahara.

I still cant get my upper radiator hose 'full' either. I managed to get a shot glass worth of coolant back into the radiator before it came close to overflowing. Even running the engine for a few minutes with the car on a slant didnt let me get any more in there. Huh

Expansion tank should definitely have coolant in it! It should have low and high marks on it (or hot and cold) to indicate what level the coolant should be at.

Jim I have had the same problem with both my is200s. But I found if you undo the top hose as you fill it up, then slip it back on when you get coolent coming out, then squeeze the lower pipe while filling the last bit, helps clear the air leaks.
But I can imagine having the engine running will help too, just don,my let it get too hot!
I have found in both my is200s that they have run with low coolent in, without any issues! Be worth sorting now it's a bit warmer though!

Cheers dude. Just had a proper look and noticed the fill level on the back of it. I've topped it up with about 1/2 litre of coolant and its now just a couple of cm below 'Full'. I'll have to keep an eye on that as I did notice some white/pink residue on the underbody panel.
