Mazda6 locking problem
Mazda6 locking problem
This is probably a long shot but............ My wife's Mazda6 won't lock from the keyfob. We've checked that the doors are shut properly, and the light works on the fob so we don't think it is a battery problem. I've tried re-programming the key this morning but it still doesn't lock. The spare key is exactly the same. Luckily we can still lock the car manually with the key. Anyone have any experience of this, or can give me any tips?
Thanks
Ally
Thanks Rabster, i've not checked for a blown fuse but i will do. The remote only controls the doors.
Don't know if this is of any use but this happened on one of mine and the light still worked but it was the battery, there was enough juice to power the light but not enough to plip the lock ... I got it to work inside the car once ... not very useful lol.. when it was right next to the sensor ... it's also happened to me where one fob stopped co-operating because the spare had a flat battery.. talk about sticking together !
Thanks Sam, i'll try the battery as well :-) Both the batteries are 5 years old.....
Update!! - My wife still hasn't got round to booking her car in to the Mazda garage to get her fob fixed. I took her car to get washed on Sunday (the first time it has been washed this year) and for a laugh my wife randomly tried the fob on Monday and now it is working hock: The car wasn't that dirty, but it looks like that was the problem.
Lol.. a car with attitude about not being cleaned .. love it
Keep that car clean in future then matey
