Yeh the 300 is very efficient at shifting gears. The only thing I'm not too keen on is it's desire to always get to 5th as quickly as possible. Eshift sorts that out tho. When I want to overtake I slip it into eshift, drop it to 3rd and give it some welly. Otherwise I find that takes about a second to downshift when I floor it.

Part of the reason may be the extra gear? I tend to find that most of the time the car is in 5th then when u floor it, it downshifts to 4th realises that's not enough so goes down to 3rd.

I pulled up at a Lexus dealership to pick up a new fuse, and a whole bunch of mechanics gathered round the car while the mrs was waiting in there for me to come back lol.

Sure they weren't looking at the mrs Jim

jimxms Yeppers, Same for the 350Z iirc. In fact I believe the 350z Auto is faster even in a straight drag.

Also the only time the boost is dumped is when I take my foot off the throttle. Otherwise it just boosts and boosts through every single gear.

Yes, modern autos change faster than any man ever could. I remember driving my Dad's XJR (don't tell him!) and the box in that switches in tiny fractions of a second, fastest shifting auto in the world (it won't be anymore, but it was when launched!)

The boost argument is a very good one.

Confusedad: It was a tough call to make, but the Supercharged IS200 is being retired. Confusedad:

Took a quick video of me having a blast around the neighbourhood:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RW8Q5-Sh5Gs

This was actually the 4th attempt and probably the worst of the lot. But hey ho Smile

One thing I've found out rather quickly is that the 225's in the rear need to go. Traction is really poor even in the dry when I boot it a bit, and much to my surprise, once I hit ~5krpm in 2nd and 3rd the tyres just spin!! And that's going at some considerable speed.

Yeah its a reasonable length and there's nowhere for the rozza to hide :p

The camera was a Panasonic DMC-TZ7 zip tied to the top of my intercooler lol.

Hardly ideal, but I think I'll get one of those pro ones with the headrest mount in future Smile

I cant really push it too much at the mo as it needs tuning for the boost. Too much traffic too, you can hear me constantly coming off the throttle.

Marsdendean that seams rather quick, any chance of a speedo shot next time, but you soon flew past the last car when you booted it

Yeah I'll try and get an in-cabin vid next time. Will also get a drive-by so you can get a better idea of how it sounds without 100mph winds

Sounds like you've been having great fun Smile I would be very wary of running it unmapped though!!!
