toxo Sounds like you've been having great fun Smile I would be very wary of running it unmapped though!!!

Yeah I've been avoiding going anywhere near the redline with it. According to most of the boosted guys on my.is, the stock ECU/injectors/pump can cope with up to 6PSI without any issues. Once you get beyond that though (which I would be in higher rpms) you start running into nasties.

I've got 440cc injectors and an emanage sitting here ready to be bolted on. The emanage already has a tune on it which should see me by until I can get it on the rolling road.

Your emanage will be for USA fuel and a far higher ambient temperature not UK, and California emissions (probably) so again not that good for your car.

Best just to get it mapped and be sure of what you've got.

Nah it was re-tuned in Canada. So if anything, lower ambient than UK. Not sure about their fuel though?

Maybe I'm being blase about it, but the way I see it is that unless you're tuning right on the very edge - intake temps and octane fuel shouldn't be the cause of an engine failure? The guy in canada had it tuned to be a daily driver, so in my eyes that would mean that it would be tuned to work from cold winters to hot summers. On the occasional bit of low-ish octane but also on higher octane?

End of the day, all the Emange Blue does is add/subtract fuel based on RPM/Engine Load/Throttle position isn't it? Also I think the situation is quite different to a turbo for example. With a stock ECU and turbo, the ECU has no idea that when you've spooled and the boost kicks in that all of a sudden its going to need to spray in twice as much fuel. With a charger its got more time to respond to the linear boost increase. Of course, you can still run out of fuel as you hit the limits of the stock fueling system but thats where the pump/injectors come into play.

The tune on the emanage in my case I imagine will just be setup to take away a lot fuel at idle and lower rpms (as the 440cc injectors will be flooding the engine otherwise), and slowly give it back as the S/c approaches higher boost numbers and higher RPMs? So long as the AFR's are in the 10-11's once its at full boost thats probably as technical as it gets?

I could be oversimplifying, and I know I would never run a turbo without a tune, or even a tune from another car with the same turbo setup. But in my mind an S/C tune si a different ball game and nowhere near as intricate?

Did have a big update for here, but when I submitted it the website failed to load and I lost it all Sad

Here's the compressed update:

- Installed PAS coolers and refilled pas with slick 50

- Installed smaller washer bottle and pump after I had to delete OEM one for intercooler piping.

- Installed new battery. Old one had taken a dump on me. Had to modify battery tray to make it fit.

- Routed piggyback wires through firewall. Went round grommet rather than through it as the cable had very large plugs on both ends.

- Tried and failed to fix leaking nipple on radiator. Tried 2 tonne adhesive coupled with liquid metal, didnt work Sad New rad time?

- Noticed one of my intercooler pipes was rubbing on a bolt and it had almost made a hole in the pipe. Used liquid metal to fill the dent and repainted pipe.

All thats left now is to install the injectors.

Hell yeah. Its crazy the kinds of attention it attracts. Had a woman from across the road come over to me and start asking about the car and what I'd done to it to make the 'whizzing' noise. lol

My old man said it sounds like a bus though, because of the extended psssshhhht it makes when coming off the throttle. Sad

:laugh: glad its not just me that gets the bus comment, my dad said exactly the same about mine, :Chair:

still makes me laugh when you see people spin round wondering what the hell it is coming down the road, and the amount of other drivers that just stare at you wondering what's wrong with the car :lol:

Great job mate, really looking forward to seeing it up close :thumbup1:

Haha that makes me feel better Smile I'm still waiting for a blind man at a bus stop to stick his hand out though :tongue_smilie:

Lol yep. I've gotta break the habit of letting off the throttle just as I pass people though, very immature of me

Something else i find a bit strange is that you still get people stepping out in front of you, As if they can't hear you coming from a mile away

Mines got no sound proofing under the bonnet at the moment, so it does make quite a lot noise :whistling: been trying to get a video of it, but for some reason when i pull away the camera shuts the mike off, as if its too loud for it? so need to get out with the better camera and try it again
