I recently purchased a dedicated car cover for my is300, although I'm not a great fan of covers as I feel they do more harm than good, needs must.
I wanted it just to cover the car the night before a car show, my car lives outside, so after a day of polishing and cleaning, dust and dew can mess all that hard work up.
Covers that are tailored to fit the 200/300 a rare to find in the UK, this one was bought 2nd hand and has had very little use.
Turns out in 2008 a group buy was set up on another Lexus site and this cover was one of though's, the guy has sold his car and the cover was surplus to requirements.
Does look so much better that the Argos/Halfords one size covers all Smile.

I remember the Group buy. They were rather pricey if I recall? Over £100? I'd expect it to beat a £20 Argos job.

Looks good though. If the group buy had been about half the price it was, I might have got in on it at the time!

There was some discussion back then over whether it was legal to park on the road without a tax disk and licence plates clearly displayed. Though I'm not sure if anyone got a definitive answer.

I'm happy with the price i paid for it, although the first owner had the price of the group buy , then got stung for customs and import duty.
This is my 2nd cover, the first was a dedicated one for my then 2.8 Celica-Supra, this lived on the car all the time, and over 4 years i could see marks on the paintwork through being whipped in the wind, also the water/moisture stays trapped under the cover.

I have one that I bought for the IS250 before I got the garage built. It's made of a breathable fabric so it shouldn't trap any moisture, and it's close fitting enough not to whip in the wind, certainly not enough to cause damage. The only risk would be putting it on and off a dirty car.
The back end of mine has a lower panel in heat resistant fabric and also has a transparent panel over the rear registration plate (presumably to satisfy the US market?).
It's a tighter fit on the IS-F, so it's still useful for keeping the dust off

Here's some pics of it on the IS250:-

That's the kiddy , this one I've just bought has the bag attracted and the plastic panel for the rear plate, I guess they both came from the USA dealership accessories range.

Very nice, I'd quite like one to put on my car even when its in the garage as the roof leaks a bit.

Is the inside of the cover made from a softer fabric, or is the inside the same as the outside?

I think the quality ones are a soft, breathable fabric.

Its the same fabric inside and out. Its a bit like the fabric used in light waterproof jackets.
