jomo Very similar set up on my old 306 S16, this had twin vacuum's on the inlet manafold, which opened and closed at different rev's/speeds, a real royal pain in the a$$!

Not at all, this is an intake restrictor to meet noise and emissions regulations. Vacuum solenoids on inlet manifolds are for changing the length of the intake tract to change the torque characteristics of the engine.

It's the misses Celica not mine, so ill have to wait till shes gone out in it to find out.

Asked her this morning, she said that she didnt notice any change in the cars power or sound, but then she only drove 1 mile to Morrisons and back!

Think i need to take it for a spin lol
