Hi
Last week i got sent a Greddy Trust induction kit bought for my IS200 2.0 1G-FE instructions in japenese - ok fine seems straight forward but its got couple of wires in the fitting kit a white and brown for the MAF sensor, does this mean the MAF sensor wire need extending ? i read up on induction kits for the IS200 weather its custom or off the shelf but i dont remember anyone mentioning needing to extend the MAF or any other wires ?? anyone help/or fitted a Greddy intake ? cheers

Not really important for the fitting process, but its an IAT (Inlet Air Temperature) not a MAF sensor.

And I would say almost certainly that the wires are to extend the sensor so it reaches it's new position in the induction kit.

My DIY induction kit thread mentions having to extend the IAT wires.

There should only be one sensor wired into the original airbox (the one circled on the right) which is the one you need to extend. The tube on the left hand side is more than likely so you can attach the crank case breather to it.

I'm with Sprinter. (We're not in a Civil Partnership or anything, or even dating, I just mean that I agree with him!) The air intake temp sensor that was mounted in your airbox will need extending and inserting into the induction kit pipe somewhere along the way. I recently extended mine (OK, Ormi extended mine!) when I was fitting my supercharger, which includes an induction kit. Mine had to be extended by quite a lot, but yours may only need a couple of inches, depending on where about on the induction kit it mounts. The other section marked in the photo looks to be for the crank case breather.

Confusedad: It was a tough call to make, but the Supercharged IS200 is being retired. Confusedad:

If its the same kit as in the pic mate, the wire should reach without extending it? they were made so you didn't need to modify any parts? :thumbup1:

It does look very close to the factory position, doesn't it!

My induction kit has the sensor mounted in the 90* bend and it still doesn't reach. Sad

It may do if you strip back about 5 inches of the heat shrink/insulation tape on the existing loom. But it was easier to just add the wires rather than mess about with the rest of the loom.
