fitting heated, electrically adjusted, leather seats to a 'poverty' spec IS200
Right as many of you know I bought I 2005 full leather interior (thanks again bash)
I've read Jason's guide on the other forum and basically I don't have the 'spare' connection block on my loom.
So basically can anyone tell what colour wires need to go where? I've read Jasons instructions and they aren't making sense in my head! Lol!
Any help would be great!

I've traced the wires back from the switches but I get so far and I get to a connection block in the footwell and I cant trace it any further.
Any help would be great!
Right, ive got the chairs adjusting electrically by running a fused live direct from the battery.

30-09-2018, 04:35 AM #5I'm pretty sure P.Lindblom did a thread on this when he retro fitted heated seats into his IS200. But you're right, if you wire them to ignition they will be on all the time, so you will need to get the heated seat switches that go in the centre console off a scrapped car.
You can't wire them directly off an ignition circuit, it needs to be via a relay. Stock wiring is something like a battery live via a 30A fuse and the switches are just latching switches that engage a relay to provide power to the seats. If you wire the heater elements directly to the ignition live circuit you'll fry things, they are way too high current.
just to let you know i have the seats in and adjusting
although i did run into another problem! the seat belt clips are different sizes! so i had to remove the clips from the original seats and then put them onto the leathers!
im still trying to find where to wire up the seat heaters to, so if anyone has any ideas that would be a great help!
i think if i ever manage to do this ill have to make a guide and someone can sticky it!

ad: It was a tough call to make, but the Supercharged IS200 is being retired. ad:As Toxo said, it will be through a relay activated by the switch. I would have thought most of the wiring would be there in the stock loom though. I guess you need someone with them fitted to compare the relay location and wiring really. Have you tried the online manual for reference? Most of the electrical systems are broken down in there, if I remember correctly? Best of luck with it.
