When we moved into our present home about 23 years ago, we fitted an electric shower, which has never missed a beat in all that time!

But about march this year it started to weep a bit from the pump, so i got in touch with the makers who said that they stopped making that shower over 15 years ago so spare parts were hard to come by.

But after searching the net i found a brand new sealed one in a plumbers in Leeds, so a quick phone call and we struck a great price they posted it out to me.
I fitted it myself and it worked (weep less) for 3-4 months, then one morning it refused to get warm and the low pressure warning light came on?
So i checked with the water supplier (united utilitys) who said that there was a 24" water main being cleaned and that we may have low water pressure for a few weeks!!!

This was Oct 24th.

3 weeks passed and still no shower! I called U/U and they told me that the work had being extended by 6 weeks, WTF!!!

6 weeks pass and i called them back to find out what was going on, they said it was extended again till the 16th Dec!!

The 16th came and passed, call them back, they said that the work was finished, but they need to open all the water valves slowly to stop us getting white water? and that by the 19th 20th all should be fine.

well came home today and still no shower!!

So in my anger i opened the power box to the shower unit to have a poke about and found a relay that tell the heater to heat up had died!!!!!

WTF no!!! i could have fixed the shower weeks ago!

I stripped the same relay off the old shower and swopped them over, so now we have a working shower again!:thumbup:

Kicking myself big time!:whistling:

Sorry for long post!

It's just nice to just tell people things sometimes Smile

Glad you've got it all sorted now, how frustrating that it was such a simple fix the whole time though! lol
