2tongues No because the turbo needs the heat from the exhaust and the gas to spin at the speeds required to compress the air. The heat is just as important as the exhaust flow.

never known of this could you explain or link to explanation

It's because the gas is still expanding due to heat as it leaves the combustion chamber, so it's pushing to take up more space which in turn pushes the compressor round even more than the gas alone would.

It's why ceramic coating manifolds and turbo housings improve spool time, it insulates to keep the heat in.
