It seems you can get a Bosch S5, with the same power spec and dimensions as the Varta E44, it is also roughly the same price.

Confusedad: It was a tough call to make, but the Supercharged IS200 is being retired. Confusedad:

lol, 0AWG? Seriously? What on earth do you have in your car that can draw 245 amps?! Even starter motors are usually about 120-150A...

IMO there is NO point in uprating a car battery unless you have a need to run electrical devices long-term without flattening it (in which case you should have a split charge and a leisure battery, as car batteries are not designed for constant draw) or you genuinely need more power to START the car. That's all batteries are for. To power more gadgets while the engine is running, you should uprate your alternator NOT the battery. Batteries should be matched to alternators, by putting a larger battery in you're just putting a larger drain on your alternator to keep it charged.

Cable sizing calculations also take load/distance travelled into account - however in a car the distance travelled is never going to be more then 15 foot.

I had the cable sizing chart for car amplifier power feed calculations somewhere - will dig out one day and post up.

Essentially what Toxo had said is correct.

"Life's goal is not to arrive safely at the grave in a well preserved body. But, rather to skid in sideways........
totally worn out and broken, shouting 'Holy ****, WHAT A RIDE!'"

2tongues Essentially what Toxo had said is correct.

As it usually is! And I do not really disagree. Though the split charge leisure battery setup is not in my budget.

0AWG may be extreme and 2AWG may prove to be more suitable. But it will (eventually) be for "The Big 3" (alternator to battery, battery to chassis and engine to chassis) and also one to the boot to power two high output amps. The kit I used before was 2x 2AWG cables the length of the car with 100amp circuit breakers on each. If figured one big cable, split in the boot, might be better?
