Adarmo I don't know if you're using 100MB pics or something but its taken 10 minutes and 3 attempts to read your last 2 posts.

Ah sorry about that. I have quite a fast internet connection both at work and at home so sometimes I forget to resize them. Should be sorted now!

Cheers

I'm having to cope with 0.5 (I'm not even sure it qualifies as Broadband)

Hopefully being upgraded to 2.0 next week.

0.5 really sucks, I had that for a month, so slow I didn't bother with it. You have my sympathy.

Good luck with your RX7 build it's going to be excellent a bit nippy in the workshop at the moment I would have thought?

Sorry if I've missed it but what management are you intending to run ?

I've been considering the standard ECU but seen that those running aftermarket ECU's are gaining 40bhp and iimproving mpg.

Erk! That definitely doesn't count as broad  18.5 at home and 110 at work means I do tend to forget to trim things down sometimes.

**** straight. It's WAY too cold to paint anything which is really screwing up my plans - I'm at a stage where I can't do anything until stuff I've ordered turns up so I was going to be cleaning and painting parts but it was -4 up there last night!

It will be installed with standard management in the first instance, to get it going. After I've run it for a bit and got all the little niggles out and so on then I will start with the upgrades.

Not much to report this week:

* Sump has gone to the very helpful and infinitly talented Mr Hurricane to be machined in a proper machine shop, rather than me butchering it with a drill.
* I've put together a parts list for a very complete service (all pumps, all seals, gaskets, o rings etc, all fluids, all filters and the like) which comes to about £700. I've not ordered it yet as I'm waiting for the custom subframe to arrive before I fully commit.
* The custom parts from the US (front subframe, powerplant frame, lightweight driveshaft etc) have been shipped!

Next thing to do while I wait is to check valve clearance as I will do any shims required when I strip and service the engine. This is a bit more involved in the VVTi engine as the camshafts have to come out (the older 1UZ you can do the whole job in situ just by whipping the cam covers off). That will be a job for when it's a few degrees warmer!
