My Indecisive 4.0 V8 1UZ-FE Project
Ordered 2 Soarer engine mount brackets today. Will see if they line up (they should do, the Soarer uses the same subframe for the 1UZ and 1JZ so in theory the engine mount points will be closer together) and if not Toyota will let me return them for no charge
Thats ok from toyota! youd have thought theyd be pretty one off so wouldnt let you return them
Their usual terms are 10% restocking fee, if returned within 14 days. But as usual with these things, it's not what you know...
The mounts look smaller in the parts catalogue but you can't rely on the diagrams from that really, they still use the 94 engine diagrams for a lot of the 97 stuff.
toxo Who wants to see what the best part of £900 worth of Toyota spares looks like?

Adarmo With the best will in the world...
Adarmo Haven't you just spent the cost of a replacement engine there ?
Adarmo Are OEM Toyota bits really better than decent aftermarket ones ?
(generally the manufacturers don't make their own parts, they just buy them in)
Adarmo Still good to see progress. :thumbup1:

It's about money though, it's about being different IMHO
Adarmo I didn't mean a replacement RX7 engine (and good ones are around £2k+)
I meant it might be cheaper to run this one till it blows then stick a replacement V8 in.
