Yer thanks for the info. I am aware of this problem, though and I have noticed that there is some felt looking stuff stuck to the inside of the wing and I have wedged some rag behind it to give it some protection until I can sort a clamp.

Thanks for that Chris but I already have the two bits that bolt to the floor and the long 'J' shaped bolt. All I need is the clamp bit.

I can get one of these from MX5 Parts for £13.66.

I think that guy on eBay is having a laugh at £35 with the delivery Confusedhock:

Yes mate i thought the same? there's a clamp on ebay too, but its £15 which again is over the top for a used part, when you can get one for £13.66 :whistling:

This one might be a better bet mate, CLICK ME? :thumbup1:

Absolutely brilliant. I've taken her to work a couple of days this week and the drive home with the top down has been fantastic. I love my IS200 to bits but driving the Roadster is just different and so much fun Big GriniscoStu:

Well I've done a few tidy up jobs on Maz over the week end, and gave her a polish and a quick coat of wax yesterday.

The weather was glorious yesterday so we went out for a drive around, with the top down of course.

Saw 3 other MX5/Roadsters out and they all put their hand up.

Here's a few picks I took yesterday as the sun was going down

The paintwork has come up really well except for the front and rear bumpers which are quite faded; I think they are going to have to be resprayed.

Still grinning Big Grin

Did my first mod on Maz today. Very cheap and very quick to do.

Some old MX5 die-hards will no doubt be familiar with this mod.

The 'Flash to Pass' mod.

I found the details for this on MX5OC forum and I'm sure no one will mind me re-detailing it here.

I think this is only relevant for the imported Roadster but may be applicable on UK MX5 as well.

The Roadster has a flash facility on the lights stalk but because it has pop up headlights it doesn't do anything. It might flash the lights but the lights don't pop up.

So all you need is a 3A diode, I got one from Maplin No. 1N5408 or Maplin part number QL87U and cost all of 49p

Remove the cowl around the steering column and look for a white connector as shown in this picture...

and clearer here.....

Unplug this connector and the back should look like this .....

Now take you diode that looks like this...

and bend the legs like so.......

I trim the legs back a bit as well.

you now need to push the legs of the diode into the back of the white connector shorting across the RED/WHITE wire and the WHITE/BLACK wire with the band on the diode to the WHITE/BLACK wire like this.....

A bit out of focus but I think you can get the idea.

and reconnect the connector.

Now when you pull back on the flasher stalk the headlights come on and pop up, let go of the stalk and they drop down again. Just like they should have done in the first place.

All for 49p and about 10mins work Confusedmoke:
