Cheers bud

ill give that ago soon - just not looking forward to putting them
in the oven lol.

any idea of sealent to use to reseal headlights?

also when spraying inside the lights, any sanding needed? or literally go straight over chrome with primer and matt black?

P.Lindblom It would take me quite a while to write it down in English.

As I mentioned earlier, you can just open your headlights and spray the inserts black. That way you'd end up with this look:

If you don't like the orange part you can remove that as well and get chrome indicator bulbs.

i went over the chrome parts with the rough bit of kitchen sponge/scourer to get a key

put them back in the oven to soften the glue then reasemble i taped them up as soon as they went back together and leave to set, then you could always go around the edge with a clear silicone to be on the safe side.

I put mine back in the oven as above, then went round the edge with aquarium sealant.

I'm currently in the process of repainting some headlight inserts, I used 1200 grain wet and dry on the chrome surface, then sprayed them with primer. Came out very well.

any chance of posting pics bud?

when you do wet and dry did you completly remove the chrome paint? or just a very gentle brush over on the chrome inserts?

thanks

I'm using a spare set of inserts I've got, but I will eventually reopen the headlights to put them back in, along with some new LED rings and projectors (will have to wait quite some time though).

Just wet sand the entire surface a bit, you don't need to de-chrome it completely, just enough to give the primer something to stick to. I spent about 10 minutes on it and it's come out very well.

In that first pic are the headlights actually tinted or has the photo been fiddled with to make them look darker? The colour tones don't look completely natural so not sure if it's the latter?
