Need new pads, anyone tried low dust ones like redstuff
Hi guys,
Need some new pads on the front, and probably on the back but havnt checked yet, and Im getting fed up of my front wheels being filthy within a few days of cleaning them. I don't really need upgrade pads, but don't mind paying decent money for decent performance and a bit lower dust. Looking at the EBC redstuff pads they're 100 quid for the front, and my current pads have been on the car for nearly 4 years so if they last as long as the mintex ones I fitted last time I dont think its bad value, but don't want to spend 3 times the price and they're still as dusty. My mintex ones are quite squeely sometimes however much copperslip i put on them so Im hoping the redstuff ones will be quiter once they're bedded in.
Any comments will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I use hawk pads. Hard to find but great pads.
I use blueprint pads in mine and they're great I think. They don't give out much dust at all either. Think they're made from quite a hard compound as I think they last longer as well compared to others....
Hi guys thanks for the replies.I think some of the dust is coming from a sticky caliper.my front passenger side caliper was red hot yesterday just from going a mile down the road, so I'll have to bring my tools home from work and investigate further.I'll have to check the pistons then order new seals and pistons if needed, our mechanic in work has rebuilt a few over the years so he said he'll give me a hand. Any good places to get rebuild parts from. I've found a few places that do the seals and a few have pistons, but none seem to mention having slider pins. We're they likely to need changing our just cleaning.
Thanks again
