Basically I want to know if I can use the existing foglight wiring to run my DRLs by changing the relay from a current=on to a current=off type so they just come on when I turn the car on? Is that possible?

if im honest i would put a new feed in to run them its easier to fuse them and it keeps after market stuff away from the car stuff you will also find the DRLs will be a lower rating fuse then the fog light so in the instance they shorted it would take some time before the car detected a problem which could result in a big problem for the car....

Aah yes I forgot about the fuse ratings, no idea how much they even draw :confused1:

I'm just going to join the two sets of DRL wiring together so I only need one power feed anyway to make things easier.

It would be much easier to just wire them into the sidelights, but I'd like them to be proper DRLs ideally.

i would run them to an ignition live wire, there not gonna draw much power so it should effect anything you wire them into.

Proper DRLs? Are you going to make them dim with the indicators? Wink

Am I f*ck. hah They are at the bottom of the bumper and not bright enough to need that. lol

I could wire them up to the foglights, and then they would just go on and off with the sidelights.

Or just wire them to the acc/ign circuit so they are 'proper' DRLs and can't be turned off.

Foglight option would be much quicker as the wiring is already there...

What i meant to say was....

I recently fitted DRLs to my Supra but wanted them to come on with engine running, NOT just with IGN on so i took a supply from the fuel pump relay through a 5amp fuse then to the DRLs directly, if i choose to have them go off when lights turned on at a later date il just pop a relay into the circuit but there not that bright and away from indicators and other lights so they don't cause any issues.

jomo Off the sidelights would be just as good mate?

Then they wont be DRLs, they will be additional lights!
