I picked up an armrest off paddywak the other day and between mine and his old is200 we noticed some difference, but the one that mainly got me was his has cruise control but mine doesnt :confused1:

So my questions are how easy would it be to fit it to mine? would i just need to buy a steering wheel with the stalk? is the cruise control loom there in every is200?

So many questions, no answers :Fish:

You can only get cruise control on the auto version.

But honestly I think it would cost well over the odds to retro-fit it now.

A quick search http://www.conrad-anderson.co.uk/cruisec...module.htm could be worth a look if you really want Cruise Control.

Your best fitting a specific aftermarket one than retro fitting the Lexus one. The IS has an electronic throttle motor as well so that could be used.

can you explain why there is clutch on that motor? throttle motor is connected to ecu with 4 wires - M+ and M- those are for motor and CL+, CL- those are for clutch.

why is it there? does the clutch hold throttle position so that motor is not stressed all the time by throttle spring, or...?

I imagine it's related to the traction control. The clutch releases when the trc comes on?

I am slowly (very slowly) working on my own cruise for my IS200 on Arduino platform.

Code is pretty much complete, now I have stuck with throttle control for car.
I think most reasonable thing to do would be cable actuated cruise control, i think I will buy cruise actuator from a bmw or something and start with that.

Checked signal going to throttle motor. its a constant frequency signal that changes pulse width to control the motor. on stand still, pulse width is constant and incrieses to open throttle and decreases to close.

another thing I am worried about is CEL, since throttle position is changing when accelerator position stays the same...
