lexus is200 sat nav bypass cable
lexus is200 sat nav bypass cable
Hi, guys! I know this has probably been covered to death on this and other forums but I am desperately in need of a sat nav bypass cable for my is200 sport. Basically I've installed an aftermarket head unit but the sat nav won't work! If anyone can make these or has one for sale I'd happily buy it off them!
Any info or advice would be really helpful!
Many thanks,
Tim
I have pm'ed speedfreek but haven't heard anything yet, if anyone else can help it would really solve a headache!
Give him chance mate, some people don't come on everyday for what ever reason.
I've never seen/heard this issue before and I've been in a lexus for 4+ years so I can't help you but give it chance
Thanks for the advice mate, I've been scratching my head about it for ages now...I've googled it and a few people said a couple of companies (Metra & beatsonic) that make a cable but I'm not sure if that's going to sort the sat nav out or just bypasses the built in amp! If I can't find a solution I'll probably end up fitting a 7" android tablet in the housing!
Are you running an Amp bypass at the moment for the new sterio?
And a lot of members have already done this sorty of Mod either a new satnav in the housing or a tablet
Essentially the car has got a cheap eBay amp bypass cable plugged into my Kenwood headunit (that's how I bought the car) I think speekfreek makes a little box of tricks that feeds off the bypass cable to get power to the OEM sat nav...I think that's the only way round it as the sat nav normally gets power etc from the OEM Lexus head unit....I've seen that a few members have stuck a Sony sat nav in the original housing although I think a tablet would look pretty cool, especially if I could tether my internet connection from my phone!
Hi Tim,
I'm afraid due to commitments with my own project car I'm not making these at the moment. But to be honest they are extremely easy to make!
Here is the diagram for it, and parts will cost you pennies, literally.
