What oil do you guys use for the diff.
Hi guys,
I'm ording some oils from Opie oils, and decided on Castrol Edge 5w30 for the engine, Redline MT90 for the gearbox based on recommendations for whine reducing and making shifts smooter (it comes in quarts and I think 2 will be enough?), but not sure what to do with the diff oil. If read a few of the threads RE diff oil, and Ive got the spec (I think) but a bit confused about quantities. Theres a few confliting posts about with diff has the most oil, LSD or non-LSD. I've got a Sport so I've got an LSD I think I need just less than 1ltr. I was looking at the Redlne diff oil which strangly is slightly cheaper than Castrol, but again Its i quarts (0.946 ltrs), so don't know if 1 will be enough, or will there always be a bit left in the diff to help. Also I'd need a oil pump/syringe for the redline whereas the castrol has a nozel on the bottle. Although I'll probably still need a syringe for the redline gearbox oil.
My car has gone a bit over its due date for servicing and it just getting to 110k, and I don't intend changing car soon, so want to try and look after the old girl the best I can.
Any help/advice would be great.
Gareth
