Hi guys,

Further on from my other thread about a much needed service, I thought I'd try and sort the. Engine management light out. Obd2 reader says it's forward bank o2 sensor. I've had a quote from Lexus Birmingham of £210, but there's a few on eBay for 50-80. I'm a bit concerned about buying cheap parts that I don't understand. I don't want to have to change it again in a few months. Has anyone got any experience with non oe sensors. Or know of a source of quality ones?

Thanks

Gareth

Exactly !!
The universal is generally available at a reasonable price, I think mine were about $50 each.

Looked at the links, guess that 20% VAT bumps it up, but they are still less than the ebay price the OP posted.

The problem with eBay is there are fakes, cheap knockoffs, other manufacturers of lower quality etc. Buying genuine Denso eliminates all that, it is the same part you would get from Lexus.

Cool thanks for the replies guys, quite a difference in price between the main dealers and what theyre obviously buying them in for.

Is the only difference between the front and rear bank sensor the length of cable? And do the universal ones come in each length or just the longest? Any tips on changing one, do I need any special tools or sealants or anything?

Thanks again,

Gareth

You get a short length on the new one and splice it into the existing wires. you can use crimp connectors or solder, I prefer solder and shrink wrap.
