so after mah cam belt decided to eat its self i got a new one today fitted it an well nada engine turns over but dont fire so i still want to do the turbo conversion to 1gfe want to know whats compatible with mine to make it stronger while im messing about with it to make it live again

1ggte rods and pistons. Alternatively ikengineering do some.

Been looking for the rods an pistons on the bay but can't see any even toying with the idea of just getting whole car an having the engine sellin the rest

Itl take ages to set up mate if I was gonna do it I'd do a 2jz but need the car back on the road at the mo I'm having to bum lifts to an from work

if you want your car back on the road asap, you aren't going to have that going turbo either. It is a ******* ball ache to turbo the 1gfe and it will cost you more than a 1j conversion anyway. You'll need to go after market or have a serious piggyback setup and the amount of money you need to spend just to have it not blow up at about 250hp is ridiculous.

If buying another car is an option, why not get a dirt cheap is200 from ebay, use the engine in yours and then 1j the new car?

I've already got most the bits to turbo it just got few weeks left on this job then gonna take month off to play ive decided that I want to turbo the 1gfe don't want loads of power at the mo I've got a 300bhp scooby tonplay in just want the is. To be a bit nippier

fair enough. Why not use the money to buy an IS300 then? That's just over 200hp and could quite easily hit 230ish with some na mods. Loads available for the 2j as well.
