bit of discussion for everyone....

which is faster 0-60/ 1/4 mile etc?

Reason I ask, My Brother has just bought an IS300, I have an IS200, specs on the cars are:

Mine,
IS200
Supercharger (Made myself, copying the TTE kit)
1JZZ Injectors
Decat Manifold
Decat Main Cat
Unknown 'Jap Style' exhaust system.
Camcon
Pipercross Airfilter

Brothers,
IS300
Custom exhaust with Sports Cats
K&N airfilter.

He thinks he'll leave me for dead, I think we'll be about even, maybe me just a head!

The day he got the car, we had a quick head to head, if the road was clear, I feel i should of been able to overtake him, he said he wasn't putting his foot down (from a guy who used to own a P1, and has a S14a as a 'weekend car').

So, im trying to get him so Santa Pod to give the 2 cars a good run against each other

Whats everyone elses thoughts?

I'd say the is300 may have the edge on torque but the gearbox may let it down but I don't really have a clue lol look forward to finding out from others though

So your tuckin 15's, that's cute but come back to me when you get some proper size wheels

my quickest time at the pod before i got charged, running standard engine, injen intake, cant remember if i had the decated headers or not, and hks hipowersilent, my quickest time was 16.8 i think it was, it was quite a hot day also for a change and the track was super sticky. I was averageing about 17.5 seconds though did about 6 runs, that is with a boot full of ice equipment and at least 3/4 of a tank so running quite heavy.

I took my Charged 200 to a quarter mile and the best run I had was 15.6. I even found the data to prove it.... Even though it does shows I have the worst reaction times ever...

supercharger should beat the n/a as the boost will create more torque. Its the same principle why Turbo Diesels are so fast yet have no horsepower.

we're talking a 2L vs a 3L though, not just 2L SC vs 2L NA. I think the gearing in the IS200 is more aggressive as well, you've got the 4.1 rear diff instead of the 3.73 or whatever it is in the IS300.

Yep cos as they say horsepower sells cars torque wins races mr shelby used to say that what sort of torque had a sc is200 got?

NA 2j vvti has 220lb.ft, an SC 1gfe would have to find just over 70lb.ft, which is almost a 50% increase in torque production on NA. I find that hard to believe. Manual gearbox and diff ratios might help acceleration though. Not sure how good the auto is in the is300, but I'd put money on an auto 300 beating an auto SC is200 any day.

edit: for reference, the 1g-gte has 203lb.ft of torque with an intercooler.

The other side discussed this a lot - IS300 ****** on IS200.
