The IS200 S/C gets 205PS/261Nm according to the swiss tuner Bemani.
The IS300 has 215PS/288Nm stock.

However, the IS200 has shorter gearing (21%, 4.7% and 9.5% on 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears respectively), and slight weight advantage (about 10%).

So, they will be very, very close.

If you just compare the claimed 0-60 times the supercharged IS200 should be a tiny bit quicker.

Standard IS200 (manual): 9.5s
Standard IS200 (auto): Can't find any numbers. Probably too slow to measure.
Supercharged IS200 (manual): 7.3s (according to TTE)
Standard IS300 (auto): 7.4s
Standard IS300 (manual): 6.8s

The manual IS300 only needs one gear change as it does 62mph in second gear.

I think it wad 5th gear that did a report on manufacturers 0-60 times and only the aerial atom was "as described".

I saw that episode too Smile Although in this situation they should be accurate (at least to each other) as they should have been tested in the same way as it's the same manufacturer and models from the same time.

The only factor to me is the gearbox, manual vs manual the 300 has to win that race.

Trouble is nobody actually specified what sort of race the two would have, the question was just 'which is faster' and without knowing what sort of conditions the cars are in you can't really answer that. Standing start? Rolling start, from what speed? Up to what speed, or is it a set distance?

Also I forgot about the manual IS300, I just assumed we were all talking about the normal UK auto version.

Jon bit of discussion for everyone....

which is faster 0-60/ 1/4 mile etc?

Standing start over quarter mile....

I cant believe that there has never been a Charged IS200 vs IS300 1/4mile drag that someone here hasnt seen.

I think we should set a weekend up at the Pod, maybe use one on the Run What You Brung weekends, and get some going head to head?

I'm up for it anyway
