Right ive had ongoing issues with a front end whistle. occasionally it progresses to a grinding scraping sound then occasionally treating me to just the whistle.
i bought a used hub assembly and have only just got round to quotes and its been discovered that the abs sensor has been cut instead of disconnected and sent with the part. Theres no chance of me getting the old sensor off the hub cleanly nor will i be able to remove mine ready to connect to the replacement assembly. one thought was to cut my sensor off at the lead and try join the two leads back together....or just buy a new bearing kit and get that fitted. Either of these procedures im not too confident about.

If i purchased a new bearing kit what sort of price am i looking at to get that fitted?

......can anybody help in any way possible please?

many thanks

yep, I've sent them a grumpy letter. Matt - I've got my timing belt, water pump and two front arms to go on if you're free any time soon? Still waiting on the brake fitting kit and lines, but that's a job for another day.

the previous garage I used did a seriously bad job of fitting it; as such, it's completely disintegrated to the point where the wheel is about to fall off, after less than 2000 miles of use.

I would persevere with getting your existing ABS sensor out to be honest. Buy some "Plusgas Formula A" and soak the sensor and the whole area around it in it for a few days. You can sometimes tap the tab the securing bolt goes through very lightly to free it up, so that you rotate the sensor, which breaks the grip the corrosion has on it. I wouldn't try that until after the soaking though as it's easy to break them. I have some rear ones from an LS400 but I doubt they're the same plug (the sensor will be the same).
