lol wiring is never simple.
it may be in here but what ecu will you be using with this? if so you can rationalise the wiring surely to just the basics if your running a standalone?
Stock to start with. I don't wanna change too much all at once, as this is my first engine swap! The wiring's pretty rationalized from the LS400, the entire engine wiring loom comes through the bulkhead straight into the ECU, with one 14-pin connector for other things like power to the coils and stuff not in the engine bay like the fuel pump and rear O2 sensors. There is a 2nd engine loom but it's literally just the oil level float (which is in a different place on the Soarer sump anyway) and alternator wiring.
Made a gearbox wiring loom today, haven't installed it yet as I haven't made a hole though into the transmission tunnel yet. The stock wiring route goes via the engine bay but I'm being neat!
Also washed the windscreen, which doesn't sound eventful but I have now rigged up the front washers to the tank in the boot, which eliminates the tank from the engine bay. A bit of plumbing and swap 2 wires round I thought... But one is positive switched and the other negative. So I sorted that out and had to get the headlining out to retrieve the plumbing. Sorted now! I've put a 6 pin molex connector on the wires I need from that connector behind the heater matrix, it has 2 wires for the reverse switch, 2 for the speed signal and 1 for the coolant temp sensor, and a big ground wire for the cluster that has to be grounded to the block & the chassis directly.
Here's the gbox wiring loom. I don't have the SGI-5 yet (although it's on it's way) so I've left those wires bare for now. Irritatingly you have to be able to get to the SGI-5 at least once during driving to calibrate it so I can't just hide it away under the dash and forget about it yet. And I don't know how big it is lol.
At least once that's done I can say I've done a gearbox conversion
What's an x14?
Ah fair enough. Makes sense.
How convenient of Mazda to consider that lol
