Makes you realise how much extra stuff Lexus put in their cars though, even 15 years ago.

So, wiring

[Image: mMEh91NqKtLzE6iErSFqdcfQn7mbKbLbjSo1mo3K...eEGRp79sLE]

The ECU has 6 plugs on it, A-F. The engine has its own separate wiring loom, which plugs in to A-C. Then the other things on the engine that need switched power (starter motor, injectors and ignition coils and so on) go through connector IG1. So the separate ECU loom has these 4 connectors on it which I have not mucked about with. It's all as stock.

D-F and the other half of IG1 are on the main car loom. They go off to things the ECU needs that aren't in the engine bay. These are the fuel pump, anti-theft transponder, instrument cluster, OBD2 port, and anything fusebox/relay related. Because I broke the car I have all the connectors and wires. If you were to buy a crate engine or one from a breakers it would be unlikely you would get any of this.

This is the wiring as far as I can work it out from the wiring diagrams I got from mattlaw:

D1
D2 R (R-B) as below NOT NEEDED
D3 2 (G-B) From transmission switch NOT NEEDED

Not much going on right now as have got a new cat so it needs a few days of house training and settling down and that kind of shite

Bought a new fuelpump, went for an Aeromotive 340 in-tank pump. Same form factor as the stock pump or a Walbro 255 but way higher flow capabilities and I bought it from Aeromotive so it's guaranteed not to be a Chinese knock off!!

Also got a tenners worth of bits from Toyota to bring my alternator and power steering pump up to scratch as well (replacing O-rings, broken plastic clips, insulators etc).

Done a few bits and bobs over the last week or two but not got any photos.

Cleaned up, stripped and replaced any broken bits on the alternator and power steering pump (1 o-ring on the PS and 1 rubber isolator and plastic insulator on the alternator)
Sprayed the alternator and PS pulleys black as they looked minging
Sanded down and sprayed the plate on the top of the PS pump black as it was corroded to hell (only part of the pump that's steel)
Started wiring the ECU up. Got an engine warning light and a circuit opening relay wired in so far. Think I might have fried something though, I wired up an earth on the ECU having counted the pins from the wrong end and it went fizz!! From where it is I think it's probably an injector driver :/
