Hi,
I've just replaced my bypass cable and I am looking for the correct setting for the cable. I've read previous threads on this subject but all the pictures have been removed so not much help really. I would just use my previous settings but they weren't any good really car would cut out on occasion when I would slam on the throttle, not good for the throttle motor really. I know every car is different but there must be a common setting I can start from.

Cheers Dan

You want quitea bit of slack, then press the throttle down and leave it with a tiny bit of play.

I'm in the same boat myself mate . I just installed a sc on my is and the bypass cable drive arm doesn't move until the very end of the throttle travel . Is this normal? Do I have to remove something from the throttle body where it's bolted so the arm moves instantly? Also should the bypass valve be fully closed when full throttle is achieved? Struggling to find info on the setup procedure.

It should be all but closed yes. Should have a little movement at full throttle so there's not too much strain on the throttle body motor.

Many thanks the arm bolted on the body itself doesn't seem to pivot until full throttle I bolted it on but didn't change anything at the body end do you think I need to remove something from the drive before I bolt it tight?

Hi there I had the same problem I bought a throttle cable from rcs cables on eBay a 2 meter is fine then you will need to take the outer spring ending from your original and fit it to the end of the new cable sheathing on the throttle end. Set up the bypass after that and cut the cable to length. Don't make it too tight or the elm light will come on
. Bit of messing around but it does work fine. To get the tension right put the ignition on with a prop in the accelerator as the body will not pull the cable through otherwise. It took me two cables to get right as when they are cut that's it and the resistance in the sheathing with a frayed cable is too much. Hope this helps
