Hello members, just wanted to share my experience with my is200 misfire problems.

Month ago my car started misfiring and running like ****, shaking, no power etc, but no check engine light.
Opened the hood, took air filter off and started to disconnect injectors one by one to see which cylinder is not firing. I checked resistance for all injectors to see if they are good - and they were...
after finding out which cyl. is not working, i swaped coil packs to see if the problem is there - and yes, now other cylinder wont fire, so one coil pack was bad.

just to mention - spark plugs were not changed a very long long time...
bought new (used) coil pack, replaced and all was fine. I knew I need to change the plugs asap, but forgot about it completly untill again misfiring started, but this time, sometimes it will work sometimes it wont.
this was not related to engine temp, just sometimes car will misfire and sometimes it wont...
bought new plugs, changed and went for a drive, everything was fine, untill car started misfiring again, so I bought new coil pack again.

after finding out which cyl is not firing I changed the coil, but it still was misfiring. swaped plugs, and coils, but still one cylinder was not firing, but this time there was blinking CEL and TRAC OFF lights.
pulled the codes and here they are:

as you can see, car is running lean on bank2, which led me to injector problems and yes - checked resistance again and injector from cyl.5 showed no resistance at all.
So I went to the guy from who I bough my second coil pack and he changed me it for an injector, changed it, and its all good since then.

maybe this will help for someone who is having misfire problems.

cheers

I think I have the same problem now. Misfire during hard driving yesterday. Waiting diagnose by the dealer, but this "running like s***, shaking, no power" and running audibly on 5 cylinders without CEL on, that is exactly what I experienced on the motorway. Thank you very much for sharing this!

My problem turned out to be a lot worse than above. During hard driving (200kph/125mph on the Autobahn for 90km/56m) I had the above symtoms. When taking out the spark plugs, the head of the one in the 6th cylinder was gone. A compression test pointed to 0compression in that cylinder. When the head was taken off, we discovered a new moon-shaped hole in the piston. I heard from a friend at Denso and from the eurolexus forum that the wrong spark plug (too hot) could cause this damage in a compressorengine. Meanwhile my engine is already replaced by one with less mileage and it is now better than it ever was before. Might also have to do with the 145mm pulley and 1zz-fe 250cc green injectors. Smile
After the new engine was installed, we did find that one of the old coil packs was bad, so that had to be replaced.
