Hi all!
So i've been looking into getting my Supra's wheels restored back to "original".
Idea is, I just put some regular wheels on it, then whip out the "originals" for any meets/shows and so on.

For the works, powdercoating, and tyre removal/putting back on, a local company have quoted me £350 for four.

You can see the current condition in the pics of this thread. I MUST take some more pictures for you guys, really sorry, I meant to do this at the weekend but had a few other bits to do.

Will start the restoration blog thingy soon so I can be better at this hehe.

Is this a little high, do you think? I must sound like such a silly billy asking such a vague question, but some companies are charging about £40 a wheel!

Do any of you have any recommendations for companies in this field?
Am I just being really stingy? (As in...you pay for what you get) kind of thing?

P.S I don't trust Halfords though.

Hope eveyone's having a lovely day!!

Sally.

I've had two sets of wheels refurbished properly and paid £350 for one set and £400 for the other as they needed straightening out too ... I think with wheel refurbs, you get what you pay for to a degree

Thanks, purplewitch Smile Well that makes me feel much more clued up. It probably is a case of me just being a dumbo and forgetting that rule hehe (the pay for what you get thing). Quotes, quotes, quotes ^^ Always a thing Smile

It depends what you need I huess, if you know the wheels are straight and there's no curb damage you want fixed and you don't want a hug holy polished chrome/or other special finish.. Then I'm sure the more cost effective rub down and quick spray jobs are great, many of the Outlaws have done this themselves and had great results Smile

If you've got a friendly MOT garage...

Get them to whip the tires off... Then go to a powder coaters and get them to blast the wheels and powder coat them...

Then back to the friendly garage to refit and ballence your wheels.

When I had my rota SDX's done... I only paid 35 per wheel to powdercoat and 20 for fitting and ballencing.

But the wheels were mint.. No bends or curb marks.

It all depends on where you go.

I work at a bodyshop buddy and tbh 350 isn't bad depending on the wheel quality. If they are badly damaged (this excludes curb rub as long as it's just the rims) then they have to factor in the repair time. We charge £200 for a straight colour swap though and that is quite cheap by most standards.
