IS200 supercharged - low boost
IS200 supercharged - low boost
On my s/c inlet there are two pipes
1.First one is for the air filter
2.Second one is designed to connect to the bypass valve
My bypass valve is on the TB side and there should be a pipe/hose back to the inlet . That pipe is missing for now but it is planned to be there.
But in WOT when the Tb is opened and bypass is closed I should get all the sucked air from the Inlet and will not dump anything from the bypass since it is closed by vacuum. I can change the place for the bypass .
I will try it in the next week
Not good.
It's getting progressively worse.
First i had a slipping belt and alot of leaks.
Then changes all the claps and tighten everything.
It was better.Maybe just 0.25-0.3 but didn't checked with a pressure gauge.
Then after 3week everything got worse
Just 0.12 bars of pressure.
Changed the charger, verified the charger magnetic clutch ,checked for leaks but still the same.
Now I'm starting to think for a pressure test for the whole system .
Don't have any ideas left.

Just checked the bypass valve and it's leaking a litte. I disconnected the end towards the airfilter and it builds up a little pressure on that side when the charger runs. I guess it should completely seal?
I did try to adjust it when I mounted it but I cant get it to completely seal. Is the valve faulty then maybe?
Damtrx, maybe you already have but have you checked your intercooler for any leaks?

I was just wondering if my intercooler is leaking . That's why i'm going to do a pressure test.
Remove the valve , point it towards the sun and try to seal it as most as you can. It should be almost sealed but it should pass a little air.
Please add a picture of how you mount the valve
0.2 bars with what pulley size ? 130mm tte or some custom one ?
You may have a leak somewhere . If you use worm type of brackets than i'm 100% sure that they are leaking. All of my worm type brackets leaked a little . That's why I switched to T-clamps
I hope that next week I will have the time to do the test and will write here for sure.
I did that before I mounted it but weren't able to get it completely sealed and stripes of sunlight slipped thrue the edges anyway.
Here's a pic on how it's mounted:

Yep, I used worm clamps.. Don't look forward to replace all those..
Btw, how did you find out that your clamps were leaking? I've tried to shut the bypass on idle and feel trough the system. Have also turned off the charger and used starter spray but cant find any leaks.
I'm using a 138mm pulley from a mercedes.

Ok , long story short
Changed the charger with another and got the same boost as before.
Turned out that both chargers have a problem and can't generate pressure .
So i'm going to get another one.
Watch out for what charger you get.
Blades need to have Teflon coating with good condition .
All bearing should be fine without any play .
With 150mm pulley and my charger a friend got only 0.2 bars. Changed the charger and got 0.46 .
Pressure test the whole system too
